TL;DR: Cisco has renamed two of its certification tracks. DevNet is now Automation (CCNA Automation, CCNP Automation and CCIE Automation) and CyberOps is now Cybersecurity (CCNA Cybersecurity and CCNP Cybersecurity). Cisco announced both changes on February 10, 2026, and its current exam pages use the new names. The exam codes did not change: 200-901 now earns CCNA Automation, 200-201 now earns CCNA Cybersecurity, and 350-201 is the core exam on the cybersecurity professional track. Cisco’s pages do not state a rename date or explain what changed, so the dates in this guide that come from third parties are labeled “reported”. Cisco’s own pages do give the exam names, fees, durations, and, for most exams, validity. They also show that some exam versions moved to v1.2. If you studied for the old names, your preparation still applies. If you hold an old-name certification, Cisco’s guidance as reported by a third party is that you do not start over.
The practical question is which name goes with which exam code today. The map below answers it row by row.
Quick Facts
| Item | What we found |
| Announcement | Cisco Learning post of February 10, 2026 |

| Rename date | Not stated on Cisco’s exam pages. Third-party sources give January 21 and February 3, 2026 |
| Next dated change | CCNA 2.0 on February 3, 2027, which is 111 days from today (October 15, 2026) |
| Not published | Validity for CCNA Cybersecurity and CCNP Cybersecurity, question counts, retirement dates for old versions |
Cisco’s own pages are the source for the codes, fees, durations and versions above. Statements from third-party sites are attributed by name and not linked. No salary data appears in this guide, because we did not find a source that isolates pay for holders of these renamed certifications.
The Rename Map
Most posts on this topic list the new names. This map lines up old name, new name and exam code, because the code is the one thing that stayed put.
| Old name | New name | Exam code | Status |
| DevNet Associate | CCNA Automation | 200-901 CCNAAUTO | Current. v1.1 |
| DevNet Professional | CCNP Automation | 350-901 AUTOCOR core, plus a concentration | Current |
| DevNet Expert | CCIE Automation | Practical exam | Current. v1.2 announced for March 23, 2027 |
| CyberOps Associate | CCNA Cybersecurity | 200-201 | Current |
| CyberOps Professional | CCNP Cybersecurity | 350-201 CBRCOR core, plus a concentration | Current. Core is v1.2 |
What the old exam label meant
Third-party study sites often label 200-901 “DEVASC” and 200-201 “CBROPS”. Cisco’s current pages name them 200-901 CCNAAUTO and 200-201 CCNACBR instead. The numeric code is the same in each case, so a book or video course labeled with the old name is still aimed at the same exam, subject to the version changes below.
The naming inconsistency
Cisco’s February 10 announcement uses “CCNP Cybersecurity”. But the Cisco page for the professional-level track we read is titled “Cisco Certified Cybersecurity Professional”, and says “Cisco CyberOps certifications have been updated to Cisco Cybersecurity certifications.” Partner training sites show both names together, as “Cisco Certified Cybersecurity Professional (CCNP Cybersecurity)”. We use “CCNP Cybersecurity” for short in this guide and note that Cisco’s page uses the long form.
The Automation Track
CCNA Automation (200-901)
Cisco’s page for the exam lists these details.
| Detail | What Cisco says |
| Exam | Automating Networks Using Cisco Platforms, 200-901 CCNAAUTO |
| Version | v1.1, per the FAQ |
| Duration | 120 minutes, pass or fail |
| Price | US$300, or Cisco Learning Credits |
| Voucher | Valid 365 days from purchase |
| Exam Safeguard Plus | US$450, gives a second attempt if you do not pass within 90 days |
| Prerequisites | None |
| Validity | Three years |
| Recertification | Pass the current exam or any higher-level Cisco exam, or earn 30 continuing education credits |
| Retake wait | Five calendar days |
| Topics | Software development and design, APIs, application deployment and security, infrastructure and automation on Cisco platforms |
One discrepancy on the page: the exam details list English only, while the FAQ says English and Japanese. Confirm the language when you book.
CCNP Automation
| Detail | Core exam | Concentration exams |
| Exam | 350-901 AUTOCOR, Designing, Deploying and Managing Network Automation Systems | 300-435 ENAUTO (enterprise) or 300-635 DCNAUTO (data center), choose one |
| Price | US$400 | US$300 each |
| Duration | 120 minutes | 90 minutes each |
| Languages | English, Japanese | English, Japanese |
| Validity | Three years for each exam | Three years |
Passing an exam earns a specialist certification for that exam, according to Cisco’s page. The page lists no prerequisites. It also gives no explicit rename notice: “DevNet Professional” appears only in image text and metadata, while the visible title uses “CCNP Automation”.
CCIE Automation
Cisco’s May 31, 2026 post says CCIE Automation v1.2 launches March 23, 2027, with a focus on AI-driven operations, DevOps and cloud-native workflows. The post gives no exam code. A separate Cisco post from May 20 says the CCIE program is adding an AI module, an hour long, and that the Design module drops from three hours to two. Rollout is phased, with the full exam including the AI module at Cisco Live US in 2027. Cisco did not say whether that applies to every CCIE track in the same order, so confirm the track you want.
The Cybersecurity Track
CCNA Cybersecurity (200-201)
| Detail | What Cisco says |
| Exam | Understanding Cisco Cybersecurity Operations Fundamentals, 200-201 CCNACBR |
| Certification earned | CCNA Cybersecurity |
| Duration | 120 minutes |
| Price | US$300, or Cisco Learning Credits |
| Language | English |
| Validity | Not stated on the page |
| Version | Not stated on the page |
Cisco’s page does not mention a rename from CyberOps and gives no version number for the exam.
CCNP Cybersecurity
| Detail | What Cisco says |
| Core exam | 350-201 CBRCOR v1.2, Performing Cybersecurity Using Cisco Security Technologies |
| Concentration (choose one) | 300-215 CBRFIR v1.2, forensic analysis and incident response, or 300-220 CBRTHD v1.0, threat hunting and defending |
| Requirement | Pass the core exam and one concentration exam |
| Core price | US$400, or Cisco Learning Credits |
| Core duration | 120 minutes |
| Validity | Not stated. Cisco says training earns continuing education credits toward recertification |
| Delivery | Proctored, online or at testing centers. Pass or fail, results usually within 48 hours |
| Rename notice | “Cisco CyberOps certifications have been updated to Cisco Cybersecurity certifications” |
Concentration prices and durations are not on the page we read.
What a third party reports about the changes
CBT Nuggets reports that the 200-201, 350-201 and 300-215 exams moved from v1.1 to v1.2 and added AI-related content, such as AI-driven monitoring, AI-powered analytics and AI-based threat intelligence, while 300-220 stayed at v1.0. Cisco’s page confirms 350-201 v1.2, 300-215 v1.2 and 300-220 v1.0, which matches. Cisco’s page for 200-201 does not state a version, so the 200-201 v1.2 claim rests on the third party alone. CBT Nuggets also reports the rename took effect on January 21, 2026, with a second stage on February 3, 2026, but its page date conflicts with those dates, so we treat them as reported and unconfirmed.
What Holders Should Do
| Your situation | What to do | Source |
| Hold DevNet or CyberOps under the old name | Nothing required. Do not retake. Download updated badges from Cisco’s certification platform | Reported by CBT Nuggets. Cisco’s pages do not describe a holder process |
| Studying for 200-901 | Keep going. The code is the same. Check the current exam topics on Cisco’s page | Cisco pages |
| Studying for 200-201 or 350-201 | Review the current blueprint for added AI topics, since the exams are v1.2 | Cisco pages for 350-201, third party for 200-201 |
| Planning CCNP Automation | Plan for 350-901 plus one concentration, and check the three-year validity | Cisco page |
| Approaching recertification | Use continuing education credits or a higher-level exam | Cisco pages |
Why “do not retake” needs a caveat
The statement that holders do not need to start over comes from a third-party article, not from a Cisco page we could read. Cisco’s pages we read say nothing about how existing holders are treated, only that the old CyberOps certifications “have been updated”. It is the likely reading, but if your employer’s partner program depends on your certification, confirm with Cisco.
The Other 2026 and 2027 Cisco Changes
Cisco’s announcements bundle several changes. The table keeps them apart from the renames.
| Change | What Cisco says | Date |
| CCNA refresh (200-301, a separate exam) | First major blueprint change since 2019, with a security-first mindset and AI in network operations. The current exam stays live until the new one takes effect | New exam February 3, 2027 |
| CCIE Automation v1.2 | AI-driven operations, DevOps and cloud-native workflows | March 23, 2027 |
| CCIE AI module | One-hour AI Deploy, Operate and Optimize module. Design module cut from three hours to two | Full exam with AI module at Cisco Live US 2027 |
| AI Infrastructure Specialist | Testing begins at Cisco Live EMEA | February 2026 |
| AI Technical Practitioner | Updated learning path | February 2026 |
| CCNP and CCIE Security | New Security Core blueprint | Announced February 2026. No date given |
| 300-710 SNCF v1.2 and 300-715 SISE v1.2 | Updated CCNP Security blueprints | No dates given |
| Wireless | New track exams shortly after Cisco Live EMEA | No names or codes given |
The countdown
| Date | Days from today (October 15, 2026) | Milestone |
| December 31, 2026 | 77 | End of the year |
| February 3, 2027 | 111 | New CCNA exam launches |
| March 23, 2027 | 159 | CCIE Automation v1.2 launches |
If you are choosing between the current CCNA and the new one, our CCNA v2.0 guide covers that decision. The CCNA 200-301 exam page and the 350-401 exam page cover the networking tracks, which this post does not.
Which Track Fits You
| Your goal | Track | Why |
| Network engineer who writes scripts and uses APIs | Automation | CCNA Automation tests APIs, application deployment and automation on Cisco platforms |
| Security analyst working incidents and monitoring | Cybersecurity | CCNA Cybersecurity and the professional track center on operations, forensics and threat hunting |
| Wants one broad networking credential first | CCNA (200-301) | See our CCNA v2.0 guide for the timing |

Five-Minute Check Before You Book
- Open Cisco’s page for the exam and copy the exam name and code exactly.
- Note the version, such as v1.1 or v1.2. If the page does not show one, look for the exam topics document.
- Check the fee on the booking screen. Core exams are listed at US400andassociate-levelexamsatUS300.
- Check the language. The CCNA Automation page lists English only in one place and English and Japanese in another.
- If you hold an older certification, check its expiry date and your recertification options.
These five checks catch the two most common mistakes: studying from a blueprint that predates the AI additions, and paying for the wrong exam code.
Common Mistakes
- Assuming the exam changed because the name changed. The code stayed the same. The content may have moved to v1.2, which is a separate question.
- Using an old exam label in a search or booking. DEVASC and CBROPS are the third-party labels. Cisco’s pages use CCNAAUTO and CCNACBR.
- Skipping the blueprint check. The cybersecurity exams added AI-related topics in v1.2, per Cisco’s version numbers and a third-party description.
- Treating the rename date as certain. Cisco’s exam pages give none, and the third-party dates conflict with their own page date.
- Confusing the CCNA refresh with the Automation rename. The CCNA 2.0 date of February 3, 2027 belongs to the 200-301 exam, not to 200-901.
- Assuming validity for the cybersecurity certifications. The pages we read do not state it.
- Retaking to “update” a certification. A third party reports that holders can download updated badges without retaking. Confirm on Cisco’s platform.
What We Don’t Know Yet
- The exact rename date. Cisco’s exam pages do not state one. Third-party dates are January 21 and February 3, 2026, and conflict with their source’s own date.
- Validity for CCNA Cybersecurity and CCNP Cybersecurity. Not stated on the pages we read.
- The 200-201 version. Cisco’s page does not show one. A third party says v1.2.
- How Cisco treats existing holders. Only a third party says no retake is needed.
- Question counts for any of these exams. Not published on the pages we read.
- Retirement dates for older exam versions. Not stated.
- The CCIE Automation v1.2 exam code. Not given in Cisco’s post.
- The CCNP Security Core blueprint dates. Cisco’s announcement gave none.
- Salary effects. We did not find a source that isolates pay for holders of these credentials, so we left salary figures out.
We will update this guide when Cisco publishes the retirement schedule or the Security Core blueprint dates. If you have a Cisco page that answers any of these, tell us and we will check it.
