If the prompt just needed the "first step" to influence EIGRP metric, it's only R4 that matters.
Metric weights and delay changes plus PBR setup on R3 is the way to go.
You have to put metric weights on all EIGRP routers (R3, R4, R5, and R6), not just a few, or adjacency will break-easy to miss. Also, both R4 and R6 Gi0/1 need delay 1000 so the backup path gets penalized. PBR config goes on R3 with proper ACLs and route-maps. I think some might forget the delay on both routers, but that's key. Agree?

Both R4 and R6 need the delay set, not just R4. Classic outbound-delay trap with EIGRP sims.
Nah, setting delay just on R4 isn't enough. You need it on both R4 and R6 Gi0/1, or the alternate EIGRP path won't get penalized properly. Saw this tripped up some people in practice labs.
Argh, Cisco loves to make us configure EIGRP metrics everywhere. It's metric weights on all routers in AS 10, delay bumped on R4 and R6 Gi0/1, then PBR with ACLs and route-maps on R3. Saw similar in some practice-if you skip the delay or one router, paths break.
Shouldn't you also apply metric weights to every EIGRP router (R3, R4, R5, R6) so adjacency forms? Also, do both R4 and R6 Gi0/1 interfaces get the delay command for Task 2 or just one? Trying to be sure.
So if the question only asked for the initial config to impact EIGRP metric, why not just set delay on R4?
It's both R4 and R6 Gi0/1 that need delay increased, not just R4-classic EIGRP trap if you miss one.
