To collect data from on-premises computers into Azure Monitor, you must first create a Log Analytics workspace. This workspace serves as the central repository for storing and analyzing log data. Next, you must install the Azure Monitor Agent (AMA) on each of the on-premises Windows 10 computers. The AMA is responsible for collecting data, as defined by Data Collection Rules, and forwarding it to the designated Log Analytics workspace.
