A sales rep needs to renew multiple assets acquired at different times with different expiration dates. When selecting multiple assets for renewal, some assets have already expired. What should the sales rep do to renew all of the assets?

The Salesforce CPQ asset-based renewal process is designed to operate on active subscriptions. Assets with an End Date in the past are considered expired and are not eligible for selection within the standard renewal workflow. To include these expired assets in a consolidated renewal quote alongside active assets, the sales representative must first modify the data to make the assets recognizable to the renewal engine. Updating the End Date of the expired assets to a current or future date makes them appear "active," thus allowing them to be selected and pulled into the renewal quote generation process.

B. Use the Amend option, override the Term, then renew.

Amending modifies an active contract mid-term. Renewing creates a new contract for a subsequent term. These are distinct and separate business processes; you do not amend in order to renew.

C. Use the Override Renewal Term option, then renew.

Overriding the renewal term or other quote parameters is an action performed on the renewal quote itself. This step is not possible if the expired assets cannot be selected to generate the quote initially.
