Read replica is the way I'd go, so A. This lets the Sales Reporting app do all its read-only queries without touching the main instance, keeping performance up for Order Management. Both apps get almost real-time data since replicas are kept in sync. Pretty sure that's what Google expects here but open to other ideas.

Option D If you run all reports at night using PubSub, it shouldn't affect Order Management during peak hours. This way the heavy reporting load is offloaded, and Order Management stays fast. Not sure if this fits the 'latest data' requirement in all cases but it's a possible approach for some use cases.

B tbh. Had something like this in a mock and they highlighted using separate databases could help segment load and reduce impact between apps. Dual writes would make sure both have current data. Might be missing something on replication though so not 100%. Agree?
