How should a Platform Administrator provide users with individualized views of data on a dashboard?

A Dynamic Dashboard is designed to run with the security settings of the user viewing it. This means each user sees the dashboard according to their own access to data, based on their profile, role, and sharing rules. This provides a truly individualized view without the need to create multiple dashboards. The data displayed is dynamically tailored to the viewing user, ensuring they only see information they are permitted to see, which directly addresses the requirement for individualized data views.

A. Add a Dashboard Filter to change the dashboard view.

A dashboard filter allows users to manually segment the data, but it does not automatically provide an individualized view based on their permissions.

C. Set View Dashboard As to Me.

This creates a static dashboard where all viewers see the data based on the permissions of the person who configured the setting, not their own.

D. Set View Dashboard As to Another person.

This also creates a static dashboard where all viewers see the data based on the permissions of a single, specified user.

1. Salesforce Help Documentation, "Dynamic Dashboards: Choose Who People View a Dashboard As": This document states, "A dynamic dashboard runs using the security settings of the user viewing the dashboard. Each user sees the dashboard according to their own access to data." This directly supports the choice of a Dynamic Dashboard for individualized views.

2. Salesforce Help Documentation, "Dashboard Properties": This page details the "View Dashboard As" settings. It explains that setting the running user to a specific person ("The dashboard viewer," "Me," or "Another person") determines whose data access is used. Only "The dashboard viewer" option creates a dynamic dashboard.

3. Salesforce Help Documentation, "Filter Dashboards": This source explains, "Dashboard filters make it easy for viewers to apply different data perspectives to a single dashboard." This clarifies that filters are a manual tool for changing views, not an automatic, permission-based individualization.
