The Activate operation makes the DR copy of the Protection Domain the active copy.

To return service to the production cluster you must:

1) De-activate the PD on the DR cluster (this unlocks the source PD and stops replication from the DR side) and

2) Destroy the test VMs that were brought online on the DR cluster.

These steps clean up the DR site and re-establish normal protection flow to production.

A. Re-activating on production does not release the active PD on DR or remove test VMs, leaving both sites in conflict.

B. De-activating on production removes protection from the source and deletes production workloads—opposite of requirement.

C. Deleting VMs alone leaves the PD active on DR, so replication cannot resume to production.
