What protocol is used for Ping and Trace route?

Pretty sure it's D and E. Ping uses ICMP and traceroute commonly uses UDP packets to probe the path, so those fit. I don't see how DHCP or TCP would be correct here.
Hard to say, D and E. Had a question just like this in a mock, both are right depending on OS since ping is always ICMP, but traceroute is UDP on some systems. Not 100 percent but that's what most mocks show.
Its D, but E feels like a trap since Mikrotik can use ICMP for traceroute too.
Its D, E. ICMP does ping and traceroute can use UDP by default on some systems.
Pretty sure it's D and E, but E trips people up. Traceroute defaults change across OS, agree with both.
Actually, I'd pick D here. Ping definitely uses ICMP, but traceroute can use ICMP or UDP depending on platform. If they're asking strictly, on some routers traceroute defaults to ICMP echo. Maybe a bit of a trick question.
