Link Aggregation Groups (LAGs) enhance high availability through two primary benefits. First, they provide redundancy (A) by bundling multiple physical links. If any single link within the group fails, traffic is automatically and rapidly redistributed across the remaining operational links. This ensures that a single point of failure at the physical link level does not cause a complete loss of connectivity. Second, as a direct result of this redundancy, LAGs help ensure continuous connectivity (C). The automatic rerouting of traffic upon a link failure is handled at the hardware/link layer, providing a seamless failover that is much faster than typical Layer 3 routing protocol reconvergence.

B. LAGs aggregate physical links and their bandwidth at Layer 2, not IP addresses, which are a Layer 3 construct.
