The vSAN Object Repair Timer controls how long the cluster waits after a host or component becomes disconnected before it begins rebuilding the missing data on the remaining active hosts. The default delay is 60 minutes. Because the planned maintenance window is 2 hours (120 minutes), the administrator must increase this timer to 120 minutes to span the entire maintenance period. Preparing the system this way prevents vSAN from initiating heavy, unnecessary data re-synchronization and component rebuilds across the cluster network while the host is intentionally offline.
