Question 21

Question

Fault Masking is:

Accepted Answer

Error condition hiding another error condition

Ben S. · Answer

A . Fault masking is when one error hides another error, not just missed by a test case like B says. Easy to mix up but syllabus points to A.

Nathan L. · Answer

Pretty sure it's A because fault masking is about one error condition hiding another, not just a test case missing a bug. Saw this definition in the syllabus. If someone thinks B fits better, let me know why!

SaraD · Answer

My pick: B for this one. I thought fault masking was more about not revealing the fault during testing, so a test case doesn't catch it. Could be wrong though, since I've seen A mentioned before too. Anyone else seen B used in practice?

Daniel A. · Answer

A saw a similar scenario in a practice test and A was correct for fault masking.
