The life_cycle_mapping table provides out-of-the-box logic to translate legacy status values (e.g., install_status) to the new standard. The life_cycle_stage field captures the high-level, meta-level phase of a CI (e.g., Build, Consume, End of Life). Within that phase, the life_cycle_stage_status defines the detailed, sub-level state (e.g., In Use, Defective). To ensure data integrity, the life_cycle_object table governs which specific stage and status combinations are valid and available for distinct CI class types (hardware, logical, etc.).
