Q: 1
Using end-of-life/end-of-support software exposes your organization to security threats. What report can you run to gain visibility to these products?

Isn't the Software Model Lifecycle Report (C) what gives you visibility into all software models' EOL/EOS dates? Seems more lifecycle-focused than B, which is mostly about license compliance.
C , but I’d check the official guide or try a lab report to be sure since wording can be tricky here.
Q: 2
For products monitored by System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM), what usage data point(s) are imported for reclamation analysis?
Options

I don’t think it’s just A-option C fits better since SCCM imports both last used and total usage time for reclamation. A is easy to pick but it misses the full picture. C.
2
C , that's what's actually imported from SCCM for ServiceNow reclamation. Not just times used.
Q: 3
What are the available actions associated with the Normalization Suggestions feature? (Choose two.)
Options
9 comments in the community discussion
1
A or B. Accept and Reject are the real actions for normalization suggestions in ServiceNow, at least in latest versions I've seen. C looks tempting since "save for later" sounds useful, but it's not an option here. Anyone disagree?
1
Its A and B. Save isn't an action you actually see, unless ServiceNow changes something for edge cases like custom normalization rules.
Q: 4
Which catalog provides a listing of goods offered or available by a third party?
Options
13 comments in the community discussion
1
Its D for this one. Vendor Catalog is meant for tracking goods from external vendors, while Product Catalog (E) can trip you up but usually means anything in the system, not just third parties. Pretty sure D is what ServiceNow expects here-correct me if I missed something.
1
Why not E here? I know "Product Catalog" sounds right, but isn't that more for internal stuff, not a third-party listing?
Q: 5
Risk is configured by default, to calculate Risk = High for a change that is scheduled with only 3 days lead time. Your customer’s change policy requires that changes be requested with 5 days lead time. How would you satisfy this requirement?

E. B is a trap, the risk matrix is not where lead time logic lives.
1
Option E is the way to go since the Insufficient lead time risk condition actually holds that threshold. Just update it from 3 to 5 days-no need to touch risk matrices or UI actions. I think that's spot on, agree?
Q: 6
A software model can have up to how many catalog items?
Options
14 comments in the community discussion
6
Option A. Unlimited looks tempting but it's actually just one per model because of how the reference field works.
3
A . ServiceNow SAM only lets you pick one Service Catalog item per software model because it's a reference field, not a list. If they update that, could change, but right now it's A.
Q: 7
Which ServiceNow plugin is used by Software Asset Management (SAM) Professional and configured during SAM Professional setup?
Options
14 comments in the community discussion
4
C . The key thing is "configured during setup"-plenty of folks lump D (Asset Management) in for ITAM but only Normalization Data Services gets directly set up as part of the core SAM Pro activation. If you're thinking of default/enabled plugins, that's where people slip up, but exam wants the one you can't skip in the
2
Ugh, ServiceNow always buries these plugin details. Maybe D, Asset Management gets enabled alongside SAM stuff in some setups if you want full hardware and software tracking. Thought it was needed but not totally sure-anyone disagree?
Q: 8
When creating a reportable bar graph view of License Metrics, you can use which of the following options to refine how you view license metric data?
Options

1
Maybe B. Both 'Group by' and 'Stacked by' let you refine the License Metrics data in a bar graph, that's what I've used in ServiceNow reports. D is tempting since 'Group by' is required, but if the question's about full refinement options, B looks safer. There's a trap here if you assume it's just about single features
1
I think B fits best. In ServiceNow bar charts, you get the most flexibility by using both Group by and Stacked by to break down license metric data into categories and sub-categories. Pretty sure that's what "refine" is getting at, since stacking adds more detail beyond just groupin
Q: 9
Within ServiceNow Discovery, the Exploration phase determines what?

Why did folks pick D? Isn't classification already done before Exploration kicks in?
1
C/D? Depends how strict you are about the phase definitions. If device classification is truly finished, B fits better.

HOTSPOT Define the three catalogs that support the request and procurement process. ServiceNow CIS SAM question

Your Answer
12 comments in the community discussion
6
Nah, not Service Desk Catalog here. The three for request and procurement are Product Catalog (all internal models), Service Catalog (user-facing requests), and Vendor Catalog (third-party supplier items). Easy to mix up "Supplier" wording, but ServiceNow uses Vendor Catalog.
5
Wouldn't it matter if you’re dealing with non-standard items? I’ve seen Product Catalog used for internal hardware models, but if procurement is through a vendor’s marketplace integration, some orgs bypass the internal catalog and map requests straight from Vendor Catalog. Does Service Catalog still apply then or do
Q: 11

HOTSPOT Match the type of result levels with the corresponding definition. ServiceNow CIS SAM question

Your Answer

6
Don’t think it’s Product Result for the first match, that’s usually a trap. It should be License Metric Result since it's based on existing entitlement.
5
Nah, I don't think it's Product Result for the first one-License Metric Result only shows if you have an entitlement. Common trap there.

HOTSPOT Match the best practice method for the amount of data: ServiceNow CIS SAM question

Your Answer

4
Nah, it's LARGE: Manual, medium trap is Discovery. Import fits only with small data in these scenarios.
LARGE AMOUNT OF DATA - Import Data. I usually pick import tools for handling big sets so the process is automated, but maybe that's not right for ServiceNow setups. Anyone else use import for large jobs?

HOTSPOT Match terms with the definitions related to Strategic Conformance: ServiceNow CIS SAM question

Classic ServiceNow trick question, always mixing up Publisher Pack and dashboards. Correct phrase here: Publisher Pack.
2
Downward/upgrade is for entitlement rights, not compliance dashboards. Publisher Pack fits for dashboards, software subscription is limited-time use. Seen this phrasing in other practice sets too. Agree with Sanjay E. here.
Q: 14

If a customer does not like the way reconciliation runs or calculates compliance, it is okay to modify the scripts includes, business rules and other logic to accommodate the business requirement.

Yeah, that's definitely False. Saw a similar question come up on practice-modifying core SAM logic is against ServiceNow best practices.
Isn't this covered in the official SAM docs? I remember the training stresses not to edit core logic, so I'd review best practice materials and samples from ServiceNow.
Q: 15

Creation of a template can help facilitate future data imports and be reused to import and transform data.

Does this mean a transform map or just a generic template? That could change everything, pretty unclear as worded.
1
True this kind of vendor wording drives me nuts-it's A.
Q: 16

Client access is the right to use for a specific amount of time.

Options
4 comments in the community discussion
1
Yeah, that's off. False. Client access isn't automatically time-based, it's just the right to connect, which can be perpetual or temporary depending on how the license is set up. The statement is too narrow here.
1
False tbh. Client access doesn’t always mean just a specific time period, it can be permanent or term-based depending on the licensing. The question makes it sound like it’s always temporary, which isn’t accurate. Agree?
Q: 17

The Software Asset Management Content Service is automatically enabled and cannot be opted out.

True imo
Guessing False, since admins have the option to disable the SAM Content Service in the platform settings.
Q: 18

Software Model Lifecycles can only be created for an external, publisher defined date.

Options
5 comments in the community discussion
False
I’d say False. I've come across similar questions in exam prep and ServiceNow definitely supports creating custom lifecycles for software models, not just ones based on publisher data. Makes sense for internal standards. Anyone disagree?
Q: 19

You can view IBM, Microsoft, Oracle and VMware license metrics as part of ServiceNow standard baseline configuration features.

I swear ServiceNow always muddies the waters with these "baseline" terms. True imo, since SAM Pro's out-of-the-box config includes those IBM, Microsoft, Oracle, and VMware publisher packs. Regular (non-Pro) SAM doesn't though, so I think exam wants the Pro answer. Agree?
1
Yeah, that's True. SAM Pro's baseline gives you those publisher packs for IBM, Microsoft, Oracle, and VMware right away. No add-ons needed.
Q: 20

When reconciliation is run, a list of product results displays the compliance status of software versions and editions with respect to discovery and entitlements.

True
True imo. From what I've seen in the official guides and practice exams, reconciliation in SAM does produce a compliance status list based on discovered software compared to what you're entitled for. It checks versions and editions too, not just the generic product. Let me know if I missed a detail here.
