Q: 7
You work for an organization in a regulated industry that has strict data protection requirements. The
organization backs up their data in the cloud. To comply with data privacy regulations, this data can
only be stored for a specific length of time and must be deleted after this specific period.
You want to automate the compliance with this regulation while minimizing storage costs. What
should you do?

D . Cloud Storage Lifecycle Management lets you set up auto-delete rules at the object level, which is ideal for backup data in regulated industries. You get reliable, automated deletions and only pay for what you need. C could fit if it were specifically about table data, but for general cloud backups, D just works better. Pretty sure on this but open to other takes.
D . Cloud Storage buckets with Object Lifecycle Management let you set automated rules to delete files after a certain period, which handles retention compliance and saves costs. The other options aren't as flexible or cost-effective for this use case.
B fits too since Bigtable lets you set TTL for column families. Anyone else thinking B works for automation?
B makes sense here too. Bigtable can set expiration policies on column families, so automated deletion is possible. Not 100 percent but feels like it might fit.
C tbh. BigQuery has that table expiration feature built in, which can auto-delete the table after a set time. It seems like a direct fit for strict retention compliance if the data is structured/tabular. Might not be as cheap as Cloud Storage, but I think it handles expiry pretty well. Let me know if I'm missing something obvious here.
D imo. Cloud Storage lifecycle rules make it super easy to automate deletions and save on your bill, fits compliance needs too.
Doesn't Cloud Storage Object Lifecycle Management directly support setting deletion policies for objects, not tables? Backups are typically files, so wouldn't D make the most sense here?
Yeah, Object Lifecycle Management in Cloud Storage is built for this. D
Its D since Cloud Storage buckets with Object Lifecycle Management will handle the deletion automatically and help lower storage costs. This setup is made for compliance situations like this. I think that's what they're after here, but happy to be corrected.
