In SnapVault for ONTAP 7-Mode, the command syntax

snapvault snap create

is implemented by the SnapVault engine itself; therefore it is accepted by any ONTAP system that is a member of the SnapVault relationship. The administrator may invoke it on the primary system to create a source-side snapshot or on the secondary system to create an additional backup-side snapshot. The man page and administrative guide both state that the command “can be entered on either the primary or secondary storage system.” Hence only choice C (“secondary or primary appliance systems”) is fully accurate.

A. “secondary system only” – ignores documented support on primary.

B. “primary system only” – ignores documented support on secondary.

D. “open systems” – SnapVault CLI exists only on ONTAP controllers, not open-systems hosts.
