NetSuite’s Write Check transaction posts an expense (Debit: expense or asset account) and the offsetting reduction of cash (Credit: bank account) in a single step. It is therefore the appropriate tool for one-off or petty-cash-type outlays made immediately, because no prior vendor bill or purchase order is required.

A. Purchase Order – non-posting; only records commitment, no cash or expense posted.

B. Pay Single Vendor – pays open vendor bills; records cash only, expense already recognized elsewhere.

D. Transfer Funds – moves money between bank accounts; does not touch expense accounts.
