Isn't D more about restricting by user or dimension, not period? The fiscal periods setup (B) blocks posting for dates, pretty sure that's what they're looking for here.
B tbh, since restricting posting is on the fiscal periods screen. D looks tempting but that's not for blocking posting by period.
I’d pick B for restricting posting, that’s right in the fiscal periods config. Not 100% but matches what I’ve used.
Don’t think it’s D here. B fits since 'restrict posting' is usually just about locking the periods in accounting, not user permissions. Watch out for that trap if you’re thinking too deep into security.
Its B. Setting up the fiscal year and locking periods is standard for posting restrictions in Business Central.
Probably B here. For setting up a new fiscal year and restricting posting based on dates, you just use the accounting periods functions in BC. Unless they mention user-based restrictions, B covers the requirement pretty well. Let me know if you think differently.
Honestly, unless they're being super sneaky about restricting posting by something other than date (like user or dimension), setting up the fiscal year and using the periods setup covers both needs. Option B is correct in almost all standard config cases. Let me know if I'm missing an edge case with custom permissions.
Feels like B, but could see D used in some scenarios too.
B , because the fiscal periods setup is where you both define a new fiscal year and control posting by dates. If they wanted, say, restriction by department or user then D might fit, but here B is the safer pick. Someone might argue if there's a complex custom blocking need though.
Definitely B for this, lines up with how you block posting per period in Dynamics. Not seeing a reason to use D unless you need restriction by some other field. Anyone disagree?
