The Mendelow stakeholder matrix is a strategic tool used to analyse and manage stakeholders by classifying them based on two variables: their level of power and their level of interest in an organisation or project. This 2x2 grid results in four quadrants, each dictating a specific management strategy:
1. Monitor (Low Power, Low Interest): Minimal effort is required.
2. Keep Informed (Low Power, High Interest): Keep these stakeholders adequately informed and communicate with them to ensure no major issues arise.
3. Keep Satisfied (High Power, Low Interest): Put enough work in with these stakeholders to keep them satisfied, but not so much that they become bored with your message.
4. Manage Closely (High Power, High Interest): These are key players who require full engagement and effort.
