Virtual Connect Flex-10 modules support Fibre Channel over Ethernet (FCoE). FCoE is a storage
protocol that encapsulates Fibre Channel frames within Ethernet packets, allowing for the
consolidation of LAN and SAN traffic over a single Ethernet infrastructure. This protocol is especially
useful in converged network environments where space and cabling efficiency are critical. Flex-10
technology allows for the dynamic allocation of bandwidth between different network protocols, and
FCoE is fully supported within this architecture.
