DRAG DROP Huawei modular devices have multiple hardware modules that provide different functions. Match the following hardware modules with their functions.
I don’t think LPU is the data plane here, pretty sure it’s actually SFU that does the main switching interconnect, while LPU handles ports and forwarding. Trap option for anyone who thinks 'forwarding' always means data plane! So mapping is: SFU → data plane, LPU → ports and forwarding, MPU → control/management.
Had something like this in a mock lab, and the mapping lines up. SFU is always the data plane, LPU deals with port-level forwarding and interfaces, and MPU is the brains for control/management. Huawei's modular platforms use these roles pretty consistently. Open to correction but I'm confident this is right:
- SFU → Acts as the data plane
- LPU → Forwards data and provides optical/electrical ports
- MPU → Acts as control and management plane
