Probably C here-if you want ongoing updates about activity, you subscribe to notifications for the repo, doesn't matter if your account is free or paid. D is more about tailoring what kind of stuff you get notified for, but to actually get all updates in the first place, it's C. Pretty sure that's how GitHub handles it, but open to corrections.
