SAP API Management, a core capability of the SAP Integration Suite, is designed to manage, secure, and publish synchronous, web-based APIs. It provides direct, out-of-the-box support for creating API proxies from backend services that expose industry-standard protocols. These include REST (Representational State Transfer) APIs, often described using OpenAPI specifications; SOAP (Simple Object Access Protocol) web services, defined by WSDL files; and OData (Open Data Protocol), a REST-based protocol for which API Management can parse metadata (EDMX) to understand the service structure. These three protocols represent the primary types of endpoints that API Management is built to handle.

B. RFC: RFC (Remote Function Call) is a proprietary SAP protocol for synchronous communication between SAP systems and is not a web-based protocol directly managed by API Management.

E. IDoc: IDoc (Intermediate Document) is a standard SAP data container for asynchronous data exchange, not a synchronous request-response protocol that API Management proxies.
