HOTSPOT How should you calculate the monthly uptime percentage? To answer, select the appropriate options in the answer area. NOTE: Each correct selection is worth one point.
Seen similar in official practice and study guides.
This matches how Azure wants uptime calculated-subtract downtime first, then divide by the total, and multiply by 100 to get a percentage. I always mix it up with downtime percent in practice, but for uptime this is right. Correct me if you see it differently.
Not Downtime over max minutes, that's actually for downtime percentage not uptime. Here, you want (Maximum Available Minutes minus Downtime in Minutes) over Maximum Available Minutes, then multiply by 100. Pretty sure that’s what they check for on AZ-900 exams.
I don't think it's Downtime divided by Max Available Minutes, that's the common mistake. The correct formula for uptime is (Maximum Available Minutes minus Downtime) over Maximum Available Minutes, times 100. Pretty sure Azure tests for that specifically, but happy to hear other views if I'm missing something.
Isn't it just downtime divided by maximum available minutes, then times 100? I remember a practice question showing that. Not totally sure if that's exactly how Azure does it though, maybe I'm missing a step.
So if they asked for "service availability" instead of "monthly uptime percentage," would you still use the (Max Available Minutes - Downtime) formula or just Downtime over Max Available Minutes? Having a hard time remembering if it's always subtracted first.
