Apigee Edge already organizes system-defined variables into logical “namespaces” (request., response., oauth., etc.) separated by a period.

The same convention is recommended for any custom variables you create: choose a unique prefix (for example, mycompany.order.) and use “.” to subdivide it.

This immediately groups related variables, avoids naming collisions, and makes large proxies easier to read in the Trace UI or policy condition syntax.

Changing the letter-case of names or hand-maintaining a dictionary does not address collision/readability inside the execution context, and proxy chaining modularizes logic, not the variable set within a single proxy.

B. External documentation helps humans but does not reduce in-proxy naming clutter or collision risk.

C. camelCase vs snakecase is stylistic; it neither namespaces nor reduces the total number of identifiers.

D. FlowCallout/proxy chaining splits logic across proxies but each proxy can still have many variables; it does not solve naming organization within one proxy’s scope.
