In an SR OS VPLS, proxy-ARP/ND becomes active when the service is configured with “proxy-arp” together with “dynamic-populate.”

With dynamic-populate, the PE snoops ARP or ND messages coming from both its local SAPs and from remote pseudowires to learn IP-to-MAC bindings; each binding is stored in the proxy-ARP table.

VPLS distributes only Ethernet frames; it has no control-plane construct equivalent to EVPN’s Route-Type 2 MAC/IP advertisement. Consequently, a PE in VPLS never sends a BGP “MAC/IP route” that carries a host’s MAC and IP information. Therefore statement E is the single false statement.
