The developer needs to switch their local environment to a branch that currently only exists on the remote repository. The most reliable and standard workflow for this is shown in D.

First, git fetch --all is executed to update the local repository's remote-tracking branches and download all objects from the remote without merging them. Second, git checkout UXbug000222134 is used. In modern Git versions (2.23+), if a branch name is not found locally but exists on exactly one remote, Git will automatically create a local branch that "tracks" the remote branch and switch the working directory to it.

Option A: These commands are for staging a specific file/folder and pushing local changes to a remote. They do not download remote branch data or switch the developer's current branch.

Option B: git add is used to stage file changes for a commit. git checkout -a is an invalid usage in this context; the -a flag is typically used with git commit to stage all modified files, not with checkout to switch branches.

Option C: git fetch --multiple is used to fetch from multiple remotes simultaneously. However, git branch [name] only creates a pointer to a branch locally; it does not actually switch the working directory to that branch.
