The vSAN Cluster Performance widget in VMware vRealize Operations (rebranded as Aria Operations within VCF Operations) populates its data by querying the vCenter Server. The vCenter Server, in turn, retrieves this detailed performance information from the vSAN cluster itself. This data collection and exposure mechanism within vSAN is controlled by the vSAN Performance Service. If this service is not enabled on the vSAN cluster, no performance statistics (such as IOPS, latency, throughput) are collected or made available through the API. Consequently, vRealize Operations cannot retrieve any data, and the corresponding widgets will appear empty. Enabling the Performance Service is the required step to initiate data collection.

A. Enable Support Insight for all vSAN Clusters in vCenter.

Support Insight (CEIP) sends anonymized telemetry data to VMware for support and analytics; it is not the data source for real-time performance monitoring in vRealize Operations.

B. Select a Cloud proxy as Collector in the vSAN integration.

A Cloud Proxy is a data collection component. The problem is not the data collection path but the absence of performance data at the source (the vSAN cluster).

C. Select "Enable SMART data collection" in the vCenter integration.

SMART data pertains to the health of individual physical disks, not the comprehensive cluster-level performance metrics required to populate the vSAN Cluster Performance widget.
